REUNION UPDATE

REUNION INFORMATION WILL BE MAILED OUT BEGINNING THE FIRST WEEK OF
JANUARY 2010

Reunion information will only be mailed to those people who are CURRENT members of the association.  That means that if your membership expires on December 31, 2009
you will not receive your reunion information until you renew your membership.

A large number have already mailed in their dues and their new membership cards will be mailed out with the reunion information so that we can save on postage.
Those members whose membership does not expire at the end of the year will have their reunion information mailed the first week of January.

I'm sure all of you read Bill's article in the Badger and have questions concerning the Great Lakes graduation.  At this time, there are only 100 seats available and our association has those seats reserved.  The seats for the actual ceremony will be assigned to the first 100 former crew members who sign up for the tour.

If we are able to secure additional seats former crew members still will have first priority for those seats.  No seats will be confirmed until you check in at the reunion.
The bottom line is for anyone to have a chance to attend the ceremony you must purchase the tour tickets.  All deadlines apply so please pay attention to your reunion information paperwork when it arrives.

REMINDER
If you have not paid your dues, the “M” (for member) next to your name on the website membership roster list has been removed.
You will have to submit another application in order to reinstate the “
M” indicator.
If you believe this was done in error, please contact LaDonna Bradshaw,

BADGER MAILING LABEL

When you receive your December issue of the Badger, please look at your mailing label, if it says "THIS IS YOUR LAST BADGER", it means your membership will expire before the next issue, which will be in April.  You should have a renewal envelope in your issue.  If you don't have an envelope, please mail your dues to:  USS Wisconsin Association, PO Box 227, Marion, MS  39342.  Dues are $20 per year for one and $10 per year for each additional member of your household that wants to renew.  Your membership expiration date is always printed on your Badger mailing label.

Frederic
Boerner, sent the following information about Ray Ney, Marine Detachment 1944.
I have recently learned Ray Ney has had an extended hospital stay due to adverse health problems and is feeling very down.  He is currently in a nursing home for the holidays and being unable to access a computer his outside contact is through his care giver via mail, who will deliver any messages to Ray.

If you are going to “and we hope you are”, send a card or note, contact Dom for the address of
the care giver.   Dombb64@ptd.net

Received the following from Matt Huffman, son of William Huffman  GM2  4th Division 1944-1946
Sir,
Just wanted to let you and all the WWII shipmates of my father, William E. Huffman, know that he is in failing health and I do not expect him to be with us much longer. He loved that ship and his time aboard her.

If anyone is in touch with Bill Herd, please let him know about William Huffman
