A LITTLE INFORMATION ON THE USS NEW YORK (LPD-21)
The USS New York, whose
bow stem includes seven-and-a-half tons of steel recovered from the
fallen World Trade Center, is scheduled to arrive in New York Harbor
on Nov.2, when she will proceed up the Hudson River,
where she will pause and dip her ensign (the American Flag) as she passes the
World Trade Center site,
then proceed up to the George Washington Bridge and turn and dock
at her Manhattan
pier. On Nov.7, she will enter naval service.

MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT TOM BRADSHAW
President Message: Our Association
SGT-AT-ARMS Bill Lewis has made a decision to retire this year. He has
performed his duties with great distinction for the past 20 years, planning
color guards, Navy & Marine Corps hymns, Bagpipers, Bell ringing, wreath
and flower arrangements for our banquets, memorial services and any
other special occasion events that required his expertise. It will be a tough
job in finding someone to take his place but we are actively searching. If
anyone is interested or know of someone, please contact me bb64bt1retired@aol.com .
Thanks,
Thomas G. Bradshaw
