I received the following email from Marion Van Tornhout on 4/14/08        C. Van Tornhout  E  Div. 1946-1947
Hello Dom;

 I want to inform you that Chuck is in the Hospital since last week Wednesday when he had Surgery.  This Surgery was an abscess he developed
 from a condition
he has had for some time now called Diverticulitis, which is in the colon area.   He has an incision on his left side
about 2-3 inches long, as of now it is still draining.  He may not be able to come home until it stops draining.  I hope it’s not too much longer.
 I go up too see him every day; the
trip takes me to Temple, Tx. which is about 30 miles from Killeen.   So far he is doing good, they get him up

now once each day to work his feet, legs, arms & hips. He was asking yesterday for pain pills, which today he did not.

Maybe this is a good sign, although he had some draining going on, he does have color back in his face.  Will keep you informed.

    Marion Van Tornhout (his wife)

A follow up on the 15th

I saw Charles today and he is doing better, also got too speak with one of the Doctor's (which is unusual most of the time),

He may come home tomorrow, but I have to wait until they see him tomorrow to make sure he can get around by himself.

Will keep you informed.

Marion
