A MESSAGE FROM OUR MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE

If your label reads “THIS IS YOUR LAST BADGER”, it means that your membership expires before the next issue of the Badger
Since not all memberships expire in December, please look at your membership card to determine your membership expiration date.  Since we used bulk mail for the December Badger to save money on postage, every issue has a dues envelope.  So please check your label since some members pay their dues up to 3 years at a time.

The new bylaws state that any member whose dues are more than 30 days past due will be removed from the roster so please mail your dues today.  If you are an active duty member, you need to confirm your mailing address and active duty status with me so that you can receive your new membership card.  Last year several Badgers were returned to me because several active duty members either retired and moved or got orders and failed to notify me of the change.

If you do not notify me or leave a forwarding address with the post office, your Badger will be returned to me as undeliverable and you will be removed from the mailing list since we cannot keep sending mail out that is returned.

Any question contact   bb64members@aol.com

SICKBAY

Received the following from Pam Lingford.

Just to let you know that Gene Lingford (56-58  A Division) is having prostate cancer surgery Dec.16 at the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, AZ.  His spirits are high and the doctors are saying that it was caught early and everything should be okay.  Will keep you informed as to his condition.

SICKBAY UPDATE

Betty Culp sent in the following

We found out today that Jack's cancer is only stage 1A.  The limb node is negative so it was contained in the lung and they got it all.  No chemo or anything.  Thanks for all your prayers.  They have been answered so far.  Betty

2009-2010 CALENDAR’S

  USS WISCONSIN 10TH BI-ANNUAL CRUISE
Even though we will have a short article on our next cruise in the Badger, I thought I might remind members that deadlines for signing up are getting closer.  Our cruise on Carnival Glory will sail from Port Canaveral on the 25th of April.  It is a 7 night cruise with port calls at Nassau, St. Thomas and St. Maarten.  Cruise prices range from$370 per person for an inside cabin (no windows) to $500 per person for a cabin with a picture window and $670 per person for a cabin with a balcony.    Port taxes and Federal Fees are extra.  We want to remind all hands that this cruise has been designated "The Lil Menta Memorial Cruise "in honor of the tremendous amount of work that she did for our association.  All funds earned from this cruise will be donated to the Association in Lil's Memory.
If you have any questions, e-mail Dick Hamann at dickbb64@aol.com  or call him at 804-265-5417
