REUNION HAPPENINGS

There will a reception hosted by The Wisconsin Navy League to be held on Thursday September 9th, 2010 in the hospitality room at the Olympia Resort during our reunion stay. They will be presenting to us a Quarterdeck mat and some photos from several league members. They are looking FORWARD to meet all of us and welcoming us to Wisconsin.

On This Day, September 3rd         
1952 My personal log starts when I came aboard Dec. 22, 1952
1953 At Sea Sept 9th – Sept 14th  Balboa, Panama Sept 14th - Sept 16th  
1954 Portsmouth, VA Sept 3rd – Sept 27th

1955 Norfolk, VA Sept 2nd – Sept 6th – At Sea Sept 6th-7th Gravesend Bay, NY Sept 7th-Sept 9th
         Bayonne, N.J. Sept 9th – Oct 18th  75ft of the mast was cut off in order for the ship to
         pass under the Brooklyn Bridge.

1956 Portsmouth, VA May 14th – Bow replacement. (Collision}
My personal log ended when I was transferred off the ship on June 20, 1956 to be discharged

We were informed that Richard Brownlee, T Division, 1951-1953 has been diagnosed with throat cancer.
He is currently in a Nursing Home, but informed us that he will be at our reunion next week.
