IRELAND TOUR

February 26-March 5, 2000

Dick did a great job in setting up this Ireland tour. Our only regret is that Dick and Claire could not be with us to enjoy Ireland’s greenery. At the end of January, while in Mobile, AL. Dick suffered a heart attack and needed by-pass surgery. Dick is now on the mend and will be at our reunion in Mobile, AL in September, 2000.
All 24 of us had a great time, no complaints. There was only one problem, Ed Spencer lost his bag at a lay-over in Boston and never saw it again until he returned home.
I guess his bag just didn’t want to go to Ireland.

Ed sent us the following poem:

February 26th was the day
I sent my bag along its way
Expecting to see it before too long
But alas, I was very, very wrong.

Each one of you heard my sad lament,
My days in Ireland that I spent,
In the same slacks and shirt and shoes,
All of you heard me cry the blues.

It should have really ruined my stay
But with your jokes you made it gay,
The offers made to lend clothes to me
Was appreciated and, I do thank thee.

On the 29th they found my bag
But felt if I had it, it would be a drag
So they kept it from me until today
The 9th of March, hurray, hurray
